Fugue (ISSN 1054-6014) is a journal of new literature edited by graduate students of the University ofldaho's English and Creative Writing programs. Fugue is made possible by funding from the University of Idaho English Department and Creative Writing Program, and the staff would like to express its sincerest gratitude for this ongoing financial support. The magazine is published biannually in the winter and summer. Subscriptions are $14 for one year (two issues), $25 for two years (four issues), or $35 for three years (six issues); institutional subscriptions are $22 for one year, $40 for two years, or $55 for three years. Submissions are accepted September 1s< through May 1s• (postmark dates). All material received outside this period will be returned unread. Prose no more than 6,000 words pays up to $50 (as funds allow) and a one-year subscription. Poetry, all forms, pays up to $25 (as funds allow) and a one-year subscription. Please send no more than five poems, two short-shorts, one story, or one essay at a time. Submissions in more than one genre should be mailed separately, each containing an individual SASE. We will consider simultaneous submissions (submissions that have been sent concurrently to another journal) with the explicit provision that the writer inform us immediately if the work is accepted for publication elsewhere. We will not consider multiple submissions (more than one submission at a time). All multiple submissions will be returned unread.
