COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- The No. 19 Hens exploded for a 25-point halftime lead en route to an easy 60-40 win over the Pirates in the Terrapin Classic at the Comcast Center...Delaware, which improved to 10-0 on the season, was again led by Elena Delle Donne who scored a game-high 22 points to go with nine rebounds...Akeema Richards matched her seasonhigh with 10 points, while Danielle Parker added eight points and grabbed a game-best 10 rebounds for the Hens...The Blue Hens erupted for yet another quick start, scoring the game’s first nine points, and did not look back the rest of the way in posting the victory....Delaware exhibited another strong effort, committing just 10 turnovers on the day...The Hens have now won the rebounding battle in all 10 games this season, taking a 5534 rebounding advantage over East Carolina, including a 17-4 offensive rebounding edge over the Pirates...UD started out with an early 9-0 cushion just 3:14 into the contest...At the 15:25 mark, Delaware took an 11-2 lead at the first media timeout of the game, improving the Hens’ scoring advantage at the first media timeout to 130-54 on the year...Overall, the Hens shot just 35.3 percent (24 of 68) from the field, but managed to hold ECU to just 26 percent (13 of 50). Both teams struggled to connect with their three-point shots, as Delaware went 0 of 10 behind the arc and East Carolina went 4 of 20 for just 20 percent...UD went 12 of 15 from the charity stripe for 80 percent on the day, while ECU went 10 of 17 for 58.8 percent.

COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- No. 19 Delaware suffered its first setback of the season, dropping a tightly-fought 85-76 decision to No. 5 Maryland..Delle Donne was nearly unstoppable in the second half and finished with 32 points, but the Hens could never quite catch up to the hot-shooting Terrapins and saw their perfect season suffer its first blemish in the championship game of the Terrapin Classic...The Hens fought back from doubledigit deficits several times during the night, but could never gain the lead after taking a 46-45 lead three minutes into the second half...Delaware narrowed the gap to 79-73 on two free throws by Delle Donne with 3:45 left to play but could never get any closer...Maryland (13-0), which entered the game as the top field goal shooting team in the country, knocked down 7 of 12 three-pointers and connected on 30 of 61 shots from the field to keep the Hens at bay...Maryland was Delaware’s highest ranked opponent since the Terps, then ranked No. 3 nationally, posted a 91-43 win on Nov. 13, 2007 at the Comcast Center...The Terrapins, who came in as one of the nation’s top offensive teams, averaging 85.0 points per game (third in the NCAA) and a 28.0 ppg winning margin (fourth in the NCAA), won by single digits for just the second time on the year...Guard Laurin Mincy led the Terps with 25 points on 7 of 12 shooting from the field while tournament MVP Alyssa Thomas added 23 points and pulled nine rebounds and Anjale Barrett contributed 16 points and eight assists...Mincy and Barrett were also named to the All-Tournament team...Delle Donne netted 24 points in the second half while Trumae Lucas added 14 points, Jocelyn Bailey added 10 points off the bench, and Lauren Carra scored nine...Delle Donne was named to the All-Tournament team as she surpassed the 30-point mark for the fifth time this season and eclipsed the 20-point plateau for the 16th straight game...The Hens hit a respectable 24 of 56 shots from the field (42.9 percent) and connected on 5 of 15 three-pointers but werealso nearly perfect from the foul line, hitting 23 of 25, including a 10 for 10 performance from Delle Donne.

NEWARK, Del. -- Elena Delle Donne exploded for 37 points and became the school's all-time career scoring leader as No. 21 ranked Hens cruised past Towson for a 74-51 CAA victory...The 6-5 forward connected on 16 of 22 shots from the field, knocked down three three-pointers, pulled nine rebounds, and blocked four shots as the Blue Hens (11-1, 2-0 CAA), playing at home for the first time in a month, bounced back from their first loss of the season...The game was played in front of an enthusiastic season-high crowd of 3,804...Delle Donne received a standing ovation when she set the mark on a jumper with 11:54 left to play and again when she was recognized during the next media timeout...The Hens, who downed Towson for the fourth straight time an for the 12th time in the last 14 meetings, shot a sizzling 18 of 29 from the field in the second half (62.1 percent) and finished the night connecting on 32 of 62 shots from the field (51.6 percent) and on 5 of 13 three-pointers...Towson (10-3, 1-1 CAA), whose only losses this season have come to nationally-ranked Connecticut, Maryland, and UD, had both a six-game win streak and a four-game road winning streak snapped...Tanisha McTiller led the Tigers with 16 points while Deree Fooks added 10 points and nine rebounds and Krystal Parnell chipped in with 10 points...The Tigers shot just 34.5 percent from the field (20 of 58) and committed 18 turnovers...Delle Donne surpassed the 20-point mark for the 17th straight game and went over 30 points for the sixth time this season...She broke the previous Delaware scoring record held by Cindy Johnson, who scored 1,675 points in 1997-01...Johnson, who was Martin’s first recruit, was on hand at the game to help honor Delle Donne. Delle Donne set the record in just her 63rd career game while Johnson needed 113 games to reach the scoring mark.
