OLEAN, N.Y. -- Delaware dominated on the boards to pick up a 61-49 non-league win over host St. Bonaventure at the Reilly Center...The Blue Hens held a commanding 48-24 rebound advantage over the Bonnies, including 17 offensive rebounds that led to 16 second-chance points compared with just three for St. Bonaventure...Elena Delle Donne dropped in a game-high 26 points and pulled down 18 rebounds, tying her career-high in a single game...She added three assists, three blocks, and a steal to help lead the Blue Hens to victory...Danielle Parker was one point shy of recording a double-double as she grabbed 12 rebounds and scored nine points for the Blue Hens while Lauren Carra scored a season-high 15 points and grabbed three rebounds...St.Bonaventure, which started off the season with four straight wins, suffered its first loss of the season...Seniors Jessica Jenkins (12) and Megan Van Tatenhove (11) were the only two players with double-digit numbers for the Bonnies...The Hens used their 11-0 opening run to control the game, never relinquishing the lead or allowing the Bonnies to get within five points the rest of the way...St. Bonaventure answered back to tighten the score at 16-11, but the Hens responded with another big run as they scored eight straight points to make it 2411...Delaware led by as much as 16 in the first half and held a 32-19 halftime lead...The Hens upped the margin to as many as 17 points at 47-30 on a Delle Donne layup with 10:03 left to play, and never were seriously threatened the rest of the afternoon...The Bonnies reduced their deficit to single digits three times in the second half, but came up short each time after the Hens answered to quickly regain their double-digit lead...Offensive rebounds were the key to the Delaware victory as the Hens grabbed 48 total rebounds, including 17 on the offensive end...St. Bonaventure managed just 24 total rebounds...The Blue Hens overcame 15 turnovers and a tough shooting performance, hitting just 24 of 61 shots (39.3 percent) to pick up the win.

PRINCETON, N.J. -- The Blue Hens (5-0), ranked in the Associated Press Top 25 for the first time in school history, remained undefeated as they jumped out to a quick 14-0 lead in the first five minutes of the game and never looked back in posting an 81-70 non-league victory over Princeton at Jadwin Gym...Elena Delle Donne poured in 32 points to go with nine rebounds and five blocks, the Blue Hen backcourt duo of Trumae Lucas and Akeema Richards combined for 22 points, and Danielle Parker added a solid 11 points...Delle Donne knocked down 13 of 19 shots from the field, hit 1 of 2 three-pointers, and was a perfect 5 for 5 from the line to post her ninth straight 20-point plus effort...The Hens, who knocked down 33 of 53 shots from the field for a season-high 62.3 percent mark, jumped out to a 46-28 lead and never looked back in posting the win...Princeton, among the top teams also receiving votes in that week’s AP Top 25 poll, had matched its best start in school history, tying 6-0 marks established twice...The Tigers had their school-record 26-game home win streak at Jadwin snapped, falling for the first time at home since a 60-50 setback to Rutgers back on Dec. 5, 2009...Lauren Edwards scored a team-high 23 points for Princeton while leading scorer Niveen Rasheed added 20 points and Nicole Hung chipped in with 11...UD came out on fire as each of the five starters scored a point in the first five minutes of play on the way to the 14-0 start...Princeton eased back into the game and cut the lead to 2418 with 8:30 left in the opening half, but the Hens reeled off 14 straight points to take a 38-18 lead...Lucas knocked down 5 of 8 shot from the field, pulled three rebounds, dished out three assists, and made three steals...After UD took a 46-26 lead at halftime, Princeton battled back and held the lead to under 15 for most of the stanza...However, the Tigers could never get closer than 10 points at 80-70 on a layup from Rasheed in the final minute.

NEWARK, Del. -- The No. 24 ranked Blue Hens overpowered William & Mary in the opening half and overcame a sluggish second half to post a 7357 victory in the league opener for both teams...The victory kept Delaware unbeaten at 6-0, marking the best start in history of the program...Elena Delle Donne scored 19 of her game-high 23 points in the first half and added nine rebounds, five assists, and three blocked shots...Delle Donne surpassed the 20-point mark for the 10th straight game...Jocelyn Bailey added 11 points and five rebounds off the bench while Lauren Carra chipped in with 10 points...William & Mary (4-3, 0-1 CAA) battled back in the second half to make the final score respectable, outscoring the Hens 3829 in the final stanza when the Tribe shot 43 percent from the field and knocked down 6 of 11 three-point attempts...The Tribe, which had a threegame winning streak halted, was led by Janine Aldridge who drained five three-pointers and finished with 17 points while Emily Correal added 11 points and pulled a 10 rebounds...UD led from start to finish and the Tribe never got closer than the 16-point final margin after the midway point of the first half...The Hens defeated William & Mary for the sixth straight time and improved to 15-4 all-time vs. the Tribe...The Hens scored the game’s first eight points and later used a 12-1 spurt to take a 20-6 lead just over seven minutes into the game...Another 14-2 run later in the half, which included eight points from Delle Donne, pushed the margin to 37-13 and the Hens built their biggest lead at 26 points at 41-15 when Delle Donne hit two free throws with 3:58 left in the half...The first free throw gave Delle Donne 1,500 points for her career, making her the sixth player in UD history to reach the mark.
