He also ranked among the elite in the nation in total assists and assists per game. Stephane Diop was named to the All-BIG EAST Second Team after recording eight goals and one assist for 17 points for the Huskies. In 2009, Diop earned a spot on the BIG EAST All-Rookie Team. Senior Greg King and sophomore Jossimar Sanchez were QDPHG WR WKH $OO %,* ($67 7KLUG 7HDP IRU WKHLU HрагRUWV LQ for the Huskies. Sanchez netted two goals for four points, while King led a UConn defensive line as the Huskies allowed just seven goals on the season.
Mamadou Doudou Diouf, despite missing seven games during the year due to an injury, joined Andrew Jean-Baptiste on the BIG EAST All-Rookie Team for their contribution to the HuskiesтАЩ success throughout the season.
