ASSISTANT STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING COACH

Tyler Adams enters his second year as a volunteer assistant coach for the UCF volleyball team in 2009 a er serving in the same posi on for the 2007 season. Prior to assuming his role on the Knights’ staff, Adams coached and played for the FC Schü orf men’s professional volleyball team in Schü orf Germany, helping guide his squad to a league championship in 2008. Adams also spent five years playing for the UCF men’s club volleyball team. He was honored by the NIRSA as a second team AllAmerican in 2008. From 2006-08 Adams served as a player coach for the club team, before taking over the team as a head coach in 2009. Adams graduated from UCF with a degree in psychology in May 2008.

JENNIFER ALGER

Tracy Prosser enters her fifth year at UCF as an assistant strength and condi oning coach. She works directly with the Knights’ women’s basketball, volleyball, so ball and men’s and women’s soccer teams. Addi onally, she assists with the strength and condi oning du es for the football team. Prior to UCF, Prosser spent five years at her alma mater, Xavier University. As an assistant at Xavier, Prosser worked with all 16 of the Musketeer athle c teams. During her me at Xavier, the women’s basketball and volleyball teams combined for top-four finishes each year in the Atlan c 10 Conference, three NCAA appearances and two WNIT appearances. Prosser earned a bachelor’s of science degree in health and physical educa on in 1998. She earned her master’s of educa on in sport administra on in 2002 from Xavier. During her undergraduate career she was also a member of the Musketeer women’s soccer team.

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR FOR ACADEMIC SERVICES Jennifer Alger has been with Academic Services for Student-Athletes since January 2004. She is currently the lead advisor for volleyball, men’s basketball and baseball. In addi on to advising, Alger is the liason with UCF Orienta on Services as well as the event coordinator for ASSA. She began her career with ASSA as an assistant advisor for the football team, while earning her master’s degree in sports business management from the DeVos Sports Business Management Program at UCF. Alger recieved her bachelor’s of science degree in marke ng from St. John’s University (N.Y.). While at St. John’s, Alger was a member of the swim team, compe ng in the individual medley and distance freestyle events.

JOHN WHITFORD ASSISTANT EQUIPMENT MANAGER John Whi ord is in his sixth season at UCF as an assistant equipment manager. Whi ord oversees equipment and supplies for the Knights’ volleyball, men’s and women’s basketball, women’s soccer, women’s cross country and track and field programs. A 1995 graduate of Manchester College in Indiana, he served as the head basketball manager from 1991-95 and also was a member of the golf team in 1993-94. Whi ord later served as an assistant golf coach at Manchester in 1995. Prior to UCF, he worked as an assistant equipment manager at Ferris State from 1998-03, where he handled football du es. Whi ord married Amy Rhode in March 2007. The couple gave birth to their first child, Andrew, in May 2008.

GRADUATE ASSISTANT ATHLETIC TRAINER Allison Honeycu is entering her first year serving as the athletic trainer for the Knights volleyball squad. Prior to joining the sports medicine staff at UCF as a graduate assistant, Honeycu was an athle c training intern at Disney’s Wide World of Sports during the spring of 2009. A 2008 graduate of East Carolina University, Honeycu worked with the Pirates’ volleyball, track & field, cross country, football, cheerleading and men’s basketball teams as an athle c training student, while also assis ng at the ECU Family Medicine Prac ce and Hoggard High School. Honeycu has also worked at Gatorade Sports Camps and the ECU Recrea on Center as a first responder. She is a member of the Na onal Athle c Trainers Associa on, Mid-Atlan c Athle c Trainers Associa on and the North Carolina Athle c Trainer’s Associa on.
