Intro to Storytelling: Developing and Writing Your Own Short Story

Teen Comedy Improv

EARLY FEE: $90; REG. FEE: $100 SENIOR FEE: $80 TUE; SEPT 6 – OCT 11 6 – 8 PM; BHCC ROBBY BURTON Drawing Pencil Portraits 2 is designed for students with some background in drawing or previous Drawing Pencil Portrait 1 students. In this course, students will refine their skills, learn more about drawing drapery, study how to reproduce different types of textures and add color to drawings through colored pencils, pastels and watercolor washes. A supply list will be provided upon registration.

FEE: $100 SENIOR FEE: $80; MATERIAL FEE: $20 THU; SEPT 8 – DEC. 8 (EXCLUDE NOV 24) 6 – 7 PM; BHCC REGINALD DAVIS Intro to Storytelling: Developing and Writing Your Own Short Story will teach students the processes and techniques necessary to write an engaging short story. This course is ideal for beginners as well as those who want a refresher on writing techniques in the short story genre.

Children’s Comedy Improv

EARLY FEE: $60; REG. FEE: $75 SAT; SEPT 17 – OCT 8 10 AM – 12 PM; BHCC LEGENIA BEARDEN Children’s Comedy Improv is a fun introductory course for children ages 9 – 13. The course will focus on improvisational acting in a safe, positive class environment. Students will learn the techniques to improvise in scenes, team work and improve their auditioning skills. This fun course is ideal for children interested in acting, improving their communication skills or just wanting to have fun! 6

EARLY FEE: $75; REG. FEE: $100 SENIOR FEE: $50 TUE; SEPT 6 – 27 6 – 8 PM; BHCC LEGENIA M. BEARDEN This course teaches improvisation in a fun, relaxed atmosphere. Students will learn the basic skills of improvisation which consist of concentration, focus, relaxation, teamwork and spontaneity. Participants will also learn about “yes, and” as well as reacting in the moment. This course is for the actor who wants to improve their auditioning skills, communication skills and overall performance. EARLY FEE: $60; REG. FEE: $75 SAT; SEPT 17 – OCT 8 12:30 - 2:30 PM; BHCC LEGENIA BEARDEN Teen Comedy Improv is a fun introductory course for children ages 14 - 17. The course will focus on improvisational acting in a safe, positive classroom environment. This is an ideal class for teens who are interested in acting, improving their communication skills or those wanting to have fun!

Introduction to Adobe Flash

EARLY FEE: $100; REG. FEE: $120 SENIOR FEE: $100 MON; SEPT 12 – OCT 17 6:30 – 8:30 PM; BHCC JASMINE GREER Students will learn the basics of the Flash interface including how to draw and animate their own scenes, working with a time line, frame-by-frame animation and motion tweens. Students will also learn the beginnings of actionscripting and how to add interactivity to animations or web page designs.
