Lion’s Den Room Rates

The Lion’s Den academic contract covers Aug. 17, 2023, through May 13, 2024, excluding winter break.

Merit-based scholarship housing stipends available for those who qualify.

Merit Scholarships

Scholarships are awarded for four years or until the completion of an undergraduate degree, whichever comes first. Renewal is based upon the completion of 24 hours per academic year. Students must also earn a 3.0 GPA for Platinum, Gold, and Silver renewal and 2.5 GPA for Bronze and Lion Pride renewal. Merit scholarship housing stipends are valid for up to four years. Your admission application also acts as your application for both Foundation and merit-based scholarships. There is no need to submit a separate scholarship application.

Prestigious Scholarships

The University of Arkansas - Fort Smith provides merit-based scholarships to our most academically successful students in the form of Freshman Prestigious Scholarships. UAFS Freshman Prestigious Scholarships require a separate application in addition to the Application for Admissions.

Academic SUCCESS Center

Writing Center

The Writing Center staff assists writers at all levels of experience. Powell Student Health Clinic

The Powell Student Health Clinic is a free resource for students to use for many health- and wellness-related issues. Services provided include:

Student Counseling Center

A living learning community (LLC) is a group of students who live within the same wing of the Lion’s Den and are involved in an LLC that fits their interests. Programming is tailored to the mission of the LLC to help those students excel in that area alongside their classmates and suitemates. Some advantages of joining an LLC are:

• Data shows LLC students are more successful academically

• Relationships with faculty in your program early in your college experience
