Learn about cells as you extract the DNA from wheat germ and make a model cell. Collect evidence with your own Inspectikit. Reconstruct a mystery scene and the face of the suspect with your Whodunit take home kit. Examine footprints; use your own Fingerprint Finder to identify fingerprints left at the scene. (Grades 5-12) In this summer camp, students will learn about renewable energy through building fun solar projects. Students get hands-on building their very own solar race car! In addition to these exciting activities, kids will learn important information about solar power. This camp unlocks the world of green energy by showing kids that the sun can be fun, too! Instructor: GoSolar! Workshop Week 4: July 15-18, 12:30 - 3:30 p.m. 10 IGH Middle School - $78 NEW! Going Solar is a Snap! (Grades K-4) This summer camp is perfect for students K-4. Students will use the very fun snap circuits to learn about the concepts of solar energy! Students will build fun solar projects while learning how it works. Workshop Week 2: June 24- 27, 12:30 - 3:30 Family Connections- $58 GRASP (Grades K-8) GRASP is a nine-week correspondence program which helps students maintain reading and math skills while they are on summer vacation. It should take you and your child approximately one hour per week for nine weeks to complete each weekly lesson. We suggest parents order the grade level just completed. If there are extenuating circumstances, order the level that is appropriate for your child. Prices include curriculum packet, completion awards and scoring service. Discover the wonders of electricity, marvel at the mysteries of magnets and test your skills as a detective. Academics NXT Robotics: Battlebots (Grades 3-8) Super-Charged NXT LEGO Robotics Projects! Get ready to take ultimate control! Using the NXT Intelligent brick from LEGO®, servo motors, advanced ultrasonic, touch and light sensors, and specialized lego technic engineering components, students will build extreme robots, program them to accomplish tasks, respond to external stimuli, and overcome challenges. Students working in small teams will control the robot with the NXT programs, and then have the opportunity to experiment and modify the programs. Students will then be challenged to morph their projects into better, stronger or faster robots. Possible competitive robots built are Tug-O-War bots, hammer-bot, a claw-striker, and Sumo-bot. Light and sound sensors, pulleys, wheels, levers and gears are all at your command! Design your machine, program it, and start it moving. This program gives parents information and techniques to help orient their children to the water and to supervise water activities in a safe manner. All classes need a minimum number of participants in order to take place. Cancellation Policy If a class is cancelled due to insufficient enrollment, you will be notified by phone or email and receive a full refund. If class is cancelled because of the weather or unavoidable reasons, it will be rescheduled when possible. Refunds Requests for a refund must be received by our office five days prior to the first class session. There is an $8 service charge for all refunds requested by participants before the first session. Financial Help A limited number of scholarships are available or there are payment plan options. Signature______________________________________________Date____________________________ 27 Adventure Camp Learn, Engage, Achieve & Dream A 3 day adventure for youth entering grades 6-8 This unique leadership camp is designed to be fun, meaningful and challenging. The activities will take place at Lebanon Hills Regional Park in Eagan (transportation is provided). The Voyageur Outward Bound staff will lead the LEAD participants through a series of activities giving students an opportunity to test their leadership skills. Each student will be challenged to consider how the skills and knowledge they gained will help them stand strong in their future!
