This summer’s most spectacular birthday party is taking place on Saturday August 13th and thanks to Fyvie Live 2011 and Friends of ANCHOR you could be part of the celebrations. Fyvie Live 2011 is a charity open air concert which will celebrate Fyvie Castle’s 800th birthday. The event will be packed with live performances including mass pipes and drums, Scottish super group Capercaillie, country rock band, Wynntown Marshals, and local up and coming singer, Kim Anderson before reaching a crescendo when soul star Beverley Knight takes to the stage. A spectacular fireworks finale will draw the memorable party to a close. Concert goers can picnic on the castle lawns, and browse the many top quality food, drink and art stalls. There are also a number of corporate hospitality options available. With the event opening at four and ending at 10pm, and Fyvie Castle just 40 minutes from Aberdeen, it’ll be one of the highlights in Aberdeenshire this summer. Not only will the 5,000 strong crowd enjoy a great event, but local charity, Friends of ANCHOR will benefit from the proceeds. The charity supports the Aberdeen and North Centre for Haematology, Oncology and Radiotherapy (ANCHOR) unit and funds the purchase of non-NHS provided

equipment and provides additional care, comfort and support for patients attending the ANCHOR unit. It also funds vital cancer research at the University of Aberdeen’s Institute of Medical Science. The ANCHOR unit’s support area extends throughout the North-east of Scotland and includes Orkney and Shetland.
