Open House Dublin 4—6 October

Irish Architecture Foundation

architecturefoundation.ie/openhouse

Nobody loves a free gaff more than Totally Dublin. Each year, the Open House Dublin festival unlocks the doors of some of the city's most architecturally impressive, socially intriguing and culturally important buildings. The festival offers not just access to usually hidden-away edifices, but an opportunity to appreciate the value of the over-familiar – which is why we're proud to present the official programme to our readers this year. —Daniel Gray, Editor

Welcome to Open House Dublin Open House Dublin – Ireland’s largest architecture festival presented by the Irish Architecture Foundation – features 100 great buildings, from the obvious to the overlooked. The 2013 programme represents a diversity of buildings and uses, allowing visitors to explore several buildings within a type or to spend their weekend moving around the city, hopping from commercial to cultural, domestic to government. This year’s 100 have been chosen to surprise and delight the public, with more than half of the venues new to the programme and each one offering a unique insight into Dublin’s architectural story. We invite you to change your perceptions about buildings you thought you knew, while introducing buildings you have yet to experience.

Fade Street Social is an ambitious new project incorporating two restaurants under one roof; The Gastro Bar and The Restaurant, along with a relaxed Wintergarden. Fade Street Social celebrates Irish food and character. Its approach is another departure from the formality of fine dining, while trying to capture the unique sense of humour of the Irish. In this huge 8000sq ft. space, again, Dylan McGrath (MasterChef Ireland judge) and his fantastic creative team have captured a number of uniquely different yet subtly connected brands all under one roof. Dylan is hell bent on continuing to offer creative, exciting new concepts that are quite simply for everyone, delivering great quality and great flavour in a relaxed setting at affordable prices.
