Dear Honor Students, I am proud to recognize and congratulate the 2015-2016 Honor Students of Newnan High School. By your success, it is evident that you hold yourselves to the highest educational standards. I congratulate those who have earned these accolades by demonstrating excellence in rigorous academic coursework. I also congratulate those who have been identified by our community leaders through awards and scholarships. All of you have earned these acknowledgments by meeting challenges with determination, self-discipline, and a strong work ethic. You should be proud of your accomplishments and the recognition they bring.
Newnan High School’s 2016 Salutatorian Lindley Kate Hudson and Valedictorian Thomas Michael Schulz.
I encourage you to reflect on your success. Consider the fundamental beliefs that have guided you. These are the same core values that will keep you on the right course. Consider the effort required to reach this milestone, and realize that the same diligence will be necessary to successfully continue the race. Consider those who have helped make your success possible. Continue to help others along the way and encourage though those who cross your path along life’s journey. Learn from the challenges life puts in front of you. Appreciate those who have guided and supported you along the way, and invest your time in the encouragement of others. The faculty and staff of Newnan High School and the Newnan community are proud to claim you as our best and brightest! Celebrate these accomplishments, but do so briefly. Do not wait to concentrate on new challenges. Use this foundation as you move forward with skill, courage, and confidence. You will always be a member of the Newnan High School family. We are Newnan! You are Newnan! U.S Navy Capt. Joe Marinello presents Ansley Knight with a certificate of accomplishment for her appointment to the U.S. Naval Academy.
Sincerely,
Chase Puckett Principal

That’s why we established the Melissa Segars Memorial Scholarship, which is funded through the EMC’s Operation Round-Up program. So, thanks to participating EMC members who contribute to the fund monthly by allowing us to “round up” their electric bill to the next highest dollar, 21 outstanding students will receive assistance to further their education!
