Thresholds is a peer-reviewed publication, published annually by the Department of Architecture at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. It strives to publish high quality articles on topics ranging from architecture, art, design, history, technology and criticism. Issues are themed and edited by different individuals, giving a single issue a particular outlook. Some are history-minded, while others focus on design or architectural discourse. Thresholds accepts submission of original scholarly work. Essays are typically peer-reviewed; design propositions or profiles are also welcome provided they have research foci, and should not be news blasts or simple press releases. Opinions in Thresholds are those of the contributors and do not represent the views of MIT. No part of this issue may be copied or distributed without written authorization.
