If you are not satisfied with the curriculum offered, or if you feel you need to supplement your denominational curriculum with other publications, you should first speak with your pastor. Ask if he has a problem with using materials obtained from outside your denomination. If your pastor does not mind your going outside your denomination, ask for recommendations of other materials that may be used. If you are required to stay within your denomination, contact your denomination’s publishing company and share your concerns. I did this once within my denomination and was amazed by the response. If you are open to other teachings and curriculum, take some time to read and explore your options. Many publishing companies will send you samples. You can contact them by phone or e-mail, and this information is usually found on their Web sites. For example, this manual is published by Thomas Nelson. I became familiar with Thomas Nelson many years ago when I received a call asking me if I would be willing to preview some material and see if it would be useful in my ministry. It was a wonderful video series, and I have used it many times throughout my career. I always appreciate the chance to preview new material. Thomas Nelson is a great resource.
