How to Apply for NCTAP
All ARMY Guard members who are eligible for Federal Tuition Assistance (FTA) are REQUIRED to request FTA through the GoArmyEd portal (www.goarmyed.com) Failure to request TA through GoArmyEd may result in the denial of your NCTAP application. To be considered for the NCTAP do the following: • • 1) Submit an NCTAP application online through CFNC.org (step-by-step instructions below) 2) Submit coursework information PRIOR to the start of EACH term via one of the following methods: Email to: email@example.com OR Online through the ESO public website at: http://www.nc.ngb.army.mil/Services/Pages/NCTAP-app-cont.aspx Course information (PRIOR to EACH start) MUST include: 1) 2) 3) 4) 5) 6) 7) 8) Course name(s) Course number(s) Total credits Start date End date Total cost of tuition/required fees, excluding books Name of school Degree Status (i.e.: Certificate, Associate’s, Bachelor’s, Master’s, etc.) MAY, JUNE and JUL STARTS – coursework information for ALL May, June and July starts must be received NLT 1 May. Go to CFNC.org to apply for NCTAP If you already have a CFNC account simply login. If you do not have an account click on “Create My CFNC Account” and refer to the step-by-step instructions posted on the NCNG public website for creating a new account with CFNC. Those with an account, proceed to next page. Hover over “My CFNC” to display options. Click on “Financial Portfolio” Click on “My Scholarships” Click on “SEAA Student Portal Link” If you reach this screen, click on the “Apply for Scholarships and Forgivable Education Loans. “ If you do NOT receive this screen proceed to next slide. If you reach this screen your SSN is not in your CFNC profile. Your SSN must be in your profile BEFORE you can apply. Please refer to the step-by-step instructions posted on the NCNG public website on how to edit your CFNC profile to add your SSN. Or follow the directions provided by CFNC. If your SSN is already in your profile, proceed to next step to continue applying for NCTAP. If your SSN is in your profile this should be your next option. Click “OK” Click on “Apply Now” Click on the above link Click on the button beside “I understand….” Complete the application. Answer ALL the questions Click on the drop down arrows to select hours. Select ALL terms you plan to attend. One APPLICATION per fiscal year (FY). NCTAP FY begins with AUGUST starts. Read and follow the directions Checking the box means you agree & know to email course information!!! Click “Submit” If you do NOT receive this message after hitting submit your application was NOT properly submitted. You should also receive email notification that states your application was successfully submitted. If you do NOT receive an email your application was not properly submitted. Email confirmation will be sent if the application was successfully submitted. If you do NOT receive the below email the application was NOT submitted: You have successfully submitted your application for the North Carolina National Guard Tuition Assistance Program. Within 3 business days, you will be able to return to your SEAA Student Portal (www.cfnc.org/seaastudent) to check your status and update your personal information. Coursework information is REQUIRED and MUST be sent to the NCTAP Manager PRIOR to the start of EACH term by one of the following methods: 1 – Email to: firstname.lastname@example.org 2 – Submitted through the ESO public website at: http://www.nc.ngb.army.mil/Services/Pages/NCTAP-app-cont.aspx Should you have questions concerning the program, please email Stacy Steinmetz (email@example.com).
