Hospital Board Member Theo de Kool thanked Dr. Boesten for his years of dedicated service; as a parting gift from the board and hospital he presented him with an engraved brass bell to call future meetings and staff to order. Communications Coordinator Charlaine Huntington presented Dr. Boesten with a memento on behalf of the staff, and Aruba’s Minister of Public Health and Sport, Dr. Richard Visser, also came to the podium to wish Dr. Boesten well and express his gratitude for his five years as head of the facility. Dr. Boesten departs after administrating over some turbulent times in which he weathered employee protests and work stoppages as well as major renovations and procedural changes to the hospital; he plans to remain on Aruba with his wife and daughter, but expressed he is undecided as yet as to what role he will continue to play in Aruba’s medical community. by Rosalie Klein
