The Qeen Of Funky Fashion

Betsey

JOHNSON Last Year Sunday, October 23, at LA Fashion Week at Sunset Gower Studios, Betsey Johnson unveiled yet another classic collection. As you may know, over a decade ago, Betsey Johnson was diagnosed with breast cancer, and although when first diagnosed, she confided only in her daughter Lulu, today, she is a survivor and she loudly and proudly supports breast cancer awareness through fashion events, parties and donations to the non-profit organization, Fashion Targets Breast Cancer, and her fashion sense is still rockin’. Betsey Johnson is known for her wild fashion sense and funky fusions of fabrics and styles. We saw everything from tartan plaid paired with red leopard and lace, to school lessons, yes a “teach me a lesson” bright yellow ruler knit top. As always, her patterns and fabrics in combination with her wild ideas rocked the runway. A personal favourite was the pink tutu dress, accented by a dark brown leopard print coat, (reminiscent of my first $600 faux leopard coat bought 20 years ago, a classic Betsey Johnson I still wear today.) The pink zippertop bustier ruffled dress worn with a crocheted black sweater, accented with a floral trim was also a crowd pleaser.
