This outdoor event will be in the back patio/band shell area in sight of the Bradshaw Mountains. The event is held to raise funds for the non- profit organization and the majority of the funds are utilized to maintain the Visitors Center at Harmil Plaza. The Chamber

oversees the Visitor Center and is very proud of the amount of commerce its tourists brings to its business community. The music starts at 2 p.m. and won’t conclude past midnight. The cost is by donation only for both adults and children, all day long. The line up of musicians is varied to appeal to families during the day and adults at night who want to dance and rock and roll under the stars in the cool Bradshaw Mountains. This year’s focus is on water conservation. Events include kid programs and activities. See and hear Wild at Heart Raptor Rescue, electric car demonstrations, first aid in the desert, xeriscape landscaping techniques, solar use demonstrations and a chance to meet Green Cave Creek Man. Attendees will have a chance to earn a live xeriscape plant for their water saving garden. With a focus on improving health and well-being, the expo will feature more than 40 exhibitors offering health checks and screenings, kids’ activities, games and prizes, demonstrations, prevention counseling and much more. The event precedes the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life at Cactus Shadows High School football field. The Healthy Communities Expo is the first major Black Mountain Partners initiative. The three organizations are co-located at the foot of iconic Black Mountain at 60th Street, just south of Carefree Highway.
