GRANDVIEW - Twentyfive teams of three turned out to try their feet in YVCC’s annual Grape Stomp in Grandview. The Grape Stomp was see “Grape stomp” back page resurrected by Grandview five years ago after the annual event ended in the 1990’s. This year’s Grape Stomp drew 25 teams in four categories to the event. The Great Grape Stomp began at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 11. Abel Pasidlas got his 509 Stompers off to a good start during the kids 10-17 finals. The 509 Stompers, made up of Pasidlas, Frankie Prieto and Raul Razo, took home top honors in their category.

Lopez formally arraigned on second degree murder charge The man the Yakima County Prosecutor’s Office believes is responsible for the Aug. 24 death of 2-yearold Benjamin Miron of Sunnyside was arraigned last Friday. Coffee shop hosts local artist Lower Valley artist Dawn Haak opened her art exhibit at Guerra’s Coffee Company in Sunnyside this past Friday, Sept. 10. Pictured above, 14-month old Tobias Vander Wilt shows his father, Nathan, his favorite painting done by Haak. The show also included live entertainment by musician Hannah Vander Wilt (right). She played instrumental folk music on a violin during the art exhibit opening.
