Welcome to the TLBAA Golden Heifer 50th Anniversary Sale We wish you a warm welcome to this momentous occasion and celebration. We are gathered here this weekend to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the formation of the Texas Longhorn Breeders Association of America. Through the far-reaching wisdom of a group of individuals led by Charles Schreiner III of the YO Ranch, the first registry of Texas Longhorn cattle was formed in 1964 and the future of Texas Longhorn cattle was assured. Our registry offers a history of the genetics of our cattle and tells the story of how they got where they are today. It assures the legacy of this great breed. Tonight we present for your enjoyment and selection a group of fine heifers from some of the most prominent breeders across the United States. You will see the diversity of color and body that so exemplifies our great breed. You will see a variety horn shape and size. Mostly you will see what we love so much about this breed – there is something for everyone. We would like to thank the breeders who have stepped forward to offer heifers from their breeding program as a donation to the building fund of the Texas Longhorn Breeders Foundation. An office building and museum on the land belonging to the Foundation has been a dream of Texas Longhorn breeders for a long time. And now through the generosity of donors and buyers here today, it will come that much closer to a realization. We hope you enjoy the fellowship with your fellow Texas Longhorn breeders.
