Ryan TILGHMAN

A versatile athlete, Ryan has made a couple of position changes in his first two years on the roster...he is back at quarterback for the 2011 season, the position where he excelled in high school...came to Tech as a quarterback but was moved to wide receiver a year ago..eager to learn and anxious to play, he showed solid progess during the 2010 spring drills as a receiver...his skills fit better as a signal caller for Tech’s fast-paced attack, so he was moved back to quarterback for 2011 spring sessions...has good fundamentals and accurate arm...elusive runner...joined the Golden Eagles as a walk-on and was a redshirt in his first season...played a role in helping the team by directing the scout team offense during his redshirt season...made it onto the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll both semesters in 2010-11. AT TECH (In 2010): Ryan got onto the field for the first three games of the season, playing on special teams...listed as a wide receiver but did not post any statistics. (IN 2009): Joined the Golden Eagles as a walk-on and spent his first season as a redshirt. HIGH SCHOOL: Played football at Columbia Central High School for coach Vance Belew...earned three letters as a quarterback...ran 1500 yards rushing and threw 28 TDs totaling 2,560 yards during his high school career...earned two letters in basketball and one in soccer... helped his soccer team win a region and district championship...made All Region in football two years. PERSONAL: The son of Glen and Melissa Tilghman...full name is Ryan Patrick Tilghman...birthdate is December 6, 1990...majoring in history.

Richmond TOOLEY

Returning to the starting lineup at field cornerback for the third consecutive season, Richmond will be viewed as one of the league’s most effective and dangerous defensive players in his senior year...has played in all 34 games during the past three years with 23 consecutive starts...has broken up 23 passes and made six interceptions, both tops among all active Golden Eagles...has 146 career tackles and five games where his tackles total hit double figures...an outstanding player who gives Tech another dependable, experienced leader in the secondary...good tackler and very tough, aggressive player...has exhibited continued improvement in his coverage skills plays with plenty of confidence...good instincts and a fierce competitor...meticulous in his fundamentals and techniques...will also play on kick and punt coverage teams. AT TECH (In 2010): As expected, Richmond emerged as one of the top defensive players in the Ohio Valley Conference...led the team and ranked fifth in the OVC with three interceptions...was second in the league for passes defended with 11...first interception of the season came at Arkansas in the season opener...had two picks in the game at Murray State...had 10 tackles in Tech’s win over Eastern Illinois...made six tackles, caused a fumble and broke up a pass in win at Tennessee State...really shined in Tech’s win over Jacksonville State with season-high 11 tackles and four passes defended. ranked 32nd in OVC and fifth on the team with 54 total tackles... started all 11 games. (In 2009): Richmond started all 11 games at field corner as a sophomore...proved to be among the most dependable defensive backs in the league...made 44 total tackles including 18 solo tackles...tied for the team lead with three interceptions and led the team with nine passes defended...was a standout in Tech’s Sgt. York games...season-high of 12 tackles and three passes defended in Tech’s win over Austin Peay...had six tackles against Tennesse State...intercepted a pass and broke up three attempts at Eastern Kentucky...also picked off passes against Southeast Missouri and Tennessee State. (In 2008): Richmond played in all 12 games as a true freshman and his steady improvement put him into the starting lineup for seven of the final nine games...was top on the team in tackles among the many freshmen who played in 2008, and he ranked fifth overall for the Golden Eagles with 48 total stops...broke up three passes
