In 2011 (Sophomore): Starting 47 games for Tech, Chanelle was one of the best hitters on the team, averaging .328 at the plate...she led the team in slugging percentage at .440 with three home runs and six doubles...her 27 runs and 59 total bases ranked second on the squad and she drove in 17 runs...Chanelle’s on-base percentage was also highest on the team at .458 and she drew 29 walks on the season...went 3-3 with 3 runs and 2 RBIs against SIU-Edwardsville (4/10)...named to the OVC Commissioner’s and TTU Athletic Director’s Honor Rolls. In 2010 (Freshman): Chanelle’s first season in purple and gold was one to remember as she ranked near the top in several offensive categories including third best on the team in batting avg at .310 and hit the second most doubles with 11...her .431 on base percentage led the team and also ranked second highest in the entire OVC...had the second longest hitting streak on the team with six hits (2/27-3/6)...named to the all-newcomer team for her freshman performance. High School: Chanelle earned the title of best offensive player in her junior and senior years after batting .527 and .450 respectively...was also a member of the dream team and First Team All-Sunset League her final two seasons as a first baseman under head coach Rob Weil. Personal: Chanelle Elizabeth Spalding is the daughter of Scott and Michelle Spalding of Laguna Niguel, Cal…birthday is January 4, 1991… majoring in business...sister, Brittney, also plays softball for the Golden Eagles.
