ITMA 2011 comes at an optimum time, when Spanish companies have survived this complex period of global economic crisis, and have also taken advantage of the situation by diversifying into other sectors through technical textiles and innovation. This has led to them going for machinery with lower energy consumption, and increased automation to shorten production processes. Leading-edge technology coupled with personalized service, undoubtedly make Spanish manufacturers ideal providers. Spanish companies have the optimum size and specialize in the manufacture of equipment tailored to customer needs. We began 2011 with optimism as Spanish exports of textile and garment machinery have increased by 39.5% so far this year, compared to the same period last year. Europe with 34%, continues to be the main destination of these exports (led by France, Italy, Portugal and Germany), followed by Asia with 21% (led by India, China), Latin America with 16% (led by Mexico, Brazil) and then the Middle East with 13% (led by Iran, Syria).
