The business establishments within Canada’s Technology Triangle (CTT) are the primary drivers of the area’s economic performance. As of December 2008, CTT had 13,040 business establishments with payroll employees. Between 2003 and 2008, the number of business establishments in CTT increased 5.5 percent, a rate of growth that ranks ninth among the 27 Census Metropolitan Areas (CMAs) in Canada and ranks third among the 11 CMAs within Ontario.
