In June 2008 the Fraser Institute issued a report entitled “Is Toronto in Decline? Worrying Trends from the Census”. The report examined specific income and employment trends for the city of Toronto, the Toronto Census Metropolitan Area (CMA), and other selected Canadian cities and Census Metropolitan Areas. Results for the Kitchener CMA were not included in this report. The purpose of this research conducted on behalf of Canada’s Technology Triangle (CTT) is to generate the numbers for the Kitchener CMA and compare its results with those of the Toronto CMA.
