Region Director/Head Trainer, Camp Gladiator How long have you been a trainer? Ten years. What appears to be the biggest challenge for people when it comes to balancing fitness and nutrition? Especially a new client trying to make major lifestyle changes. The biggest challenge is getting started and then staying dedicated to that commitment when it gets hard or when life gets busy and in the way. You HAVE to carve out that tiny part of your day to take care of yourself and prep your meals/food for the week. Motivation is huge, so for someone who is 50-100+ pounds overweight with zero level endurance, how can they get started without feeling defeated in the first workout? JUST MOVE! It’doesn’t matter what kind of moving there is, walking is the most under-rated form of exercise. Just start with walking around the block for 5-10 minutes, then build up, by the end of the month you should be walking for 30 minutes. After a month or two of walking, if you are still uncomfortable, have a personal trainer come to your house. They can step up your workouts, make them more challenging but you are still in an environment that you are comfortable with.
