DEVELOPING CHAMPIONS I N LIFE

When you break down the TCU womenʼs soccer program there are five keys that the program represents: life development, player development, a family environment, a total team effort and TCUʼs commitment toward excellence. In 2008 alone, TCU was once again honored as one of the premier academic programs in the nation. For the third-consecutive season the womenʼs soccer program was recognized by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America with the NSCAA Team Academic Award. The Purple and White also placed 16 student-athletes on the Fall 2008 Academic All-Mountain West Conference Team, which marked the top group amongst TCUʼs five fall athletics squads. The Purple and White also placed four players on the CoSIDA/ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District Women's Soccer Team, including Lizzy Karoly, who earned first-team honors. On the field in 2008, the womenʼs soccer program in Fort Worth had a banner year. The Horned Frogs were ranked in every national poll at one point during the fall season, including a program-high RPI ranking of No. 24. Overall, the program went 14-4-2, which were the most victories ever in a season, rewrote the record book in nearly every category and competed in post-season competition for the third time under head coach Dan Abdalla.

The womenʼs soccer program preaches a family environment that is a total team effort. This past spring the TCU womenʼs soccer team raised $7,000 all on their own for Cook Childrenʼs Hospital.

The university is committed towards the soccer program as well as the the Jane and John Justin Foundation has committed $1.5 million for the new Jane Justin Fieldhouse at GarveyRosenthal Soccer Stadium. The project will be completed in 2010.
