Senior Festus Kigen was named South Central Region Athlete of the Year after winning the regional meet. Kigen represented TCU at the NCAA Cross Country Championship race, finishing 85th out of 246 competitors. The men finished sixth at the MWC Championships, while the women were ninth overall. Both programs were ranked in the South Central Region. The men held their ranking throughout the season. Sophomores Agnes Kemboi and Alex De La Garza swept the individual titles at the UTA Season Opener, as the women’s team won the meet and the men earned runner-up honors. Kemboi also enjoyed top-10 finishes at the Bear Twilight Invitational, Chile Pepper Festival and Cowboy Jamboree. The women’s team claimed second-place distinction at the Bear Twilight Invitational. The men earned a NCAA Public Recognition Award for the third-consecutive year. TCU had 13 athletes named to the All-Mountain West Conference Academic team.

Closed the season ranked second in both the Associated Press and USA Today final polls, its third-straight year in the top 10 and fourth in the last six seasons. Won the Rose Bowl with a 21-19 victory over No. 5 Wisconsin. Season highlights also included a 47-7 win at Utah and a 45-10 victory over Baylor. Became the first school from a non-automatic qualifying conference to make back-to-back BCS appearances (2010 Fiesta Bowl, 2011 Rose Bowl) as well as becoming the first school from a non-AQ league to play in and win the Rose Bowl. Captured its second-straight Mountain West Conference championship and third in six years. Posted a 13-0 record for its second undefeated season in program history while also setting a single-season TCU win record. Sold out three home games en route to establishing new TCU marks for season tickets and attendance. Seniors recorded 44 wins in their career to set a win record for a class for the third-straight season. Led the nation in total defense for a third-straight year. Eight players received All-America honors, including five first-team selections.
