Susan Burton Associate Athletics Director In her 32nd year as a member of the Tarleton athletics staff is Susan Burton, the Associate Athletics Director for Academics/ Business Affairs. Burton also serves as Tarleton’s senior woman administrator. Burton is responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of all business policies and affairs, as well as marketing and fundraising for all athletics events. Burton also serves as the game administrator for volleyball, the tickets manager and as the promotions director for athletics. Burton earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Tarleton in 1975.

Troy Jones Assistant Athletics Director for Operations Troy Jones is in his 16th year as a member of Tarleton’s athletics staff and his fourth year as the Assistant Athletics Director for Operations after spending the four previous years as the Assistant to the Director for Internal and External Relations. Jones helps with the day-to-day operations of the Tarleton athletics department and facilities. He is also involved with the Tarleton T-Club, an organization for former letterwinners at Tarleton. Jones also serves as the game administrator for the Tarleton football and basketball games, as well as serving as Tarleton’s host for all high school football and basketball games on campus. Jones also assists in corporate sponsorships and fund raising for the athletics department. He and his wife Pam, reside in Stephenville and have three children, Kelcee, Easton and Dylan.

Terri Hardcastle Assistant to the Director for Administration Terri Hardcastle is in her 10th year on the Tarleton athletics staff. Joining the staff in August 2004, she serves as assistant to the director for administration. Born in Stephenville, Hardcastle was reared in Crane and graduated from Crane High School before returning to Stephenville. In 1990, Hardcastle received her bachelor’s degree in both physical education and English. Upon graduation, she taught reading and physical education for nine years at Gilbert Intermediate School. Hardcastle and her husband, Greg, have resided in Stephenville since 1992. They have two daughters, Faith Ann and Mattie Jo.

Dr. Steve Simpson Assistant Athletics Director for Sports Medicine Dr. Steve Simpson is in his seventh season back as the Assistant Athletics Director for Sports Medicine. Simpson, who also serves as the director of Tarleton’s Sports Medicine program, served numerous years as head athletic trainer until 1998-99, when he assumed his current administrative role. Simpson earned a bachelor’s degree from Hardin-Simmons University before attaining a master’s and doctorate degree from East Texas State University. 
 
 A member of the National Athletic Trainers Association and Southwest Athletic Trainers Association, Simpson is certified nationally and licensed in Texas as an athletic trainer. He was recently awarded both the Jack and Louise Arthur Excellence in Teaching Award from Tarleton State and the Most Distinguished Athletic Trainer Award from the Southwest Athletic Trainers Association. Simpson and his wife Ramona, who also works on campus, have two grown sons and reside in Stephenville.

Casey Hogan Assistant Athletics Director for Development Casey Hogan is in his second season as the Assistant Athletic Director for Development and Major Gifts at Tarleton State University. He also serves as the Voice of the Tarleton Texans, providing play-by-play coverage of Tarleton sports to listeners across the Cross Timbers Area and worldwide through the webstreamed broadcast. In his role as the Assistant Athletic Director for Development and Major Gifts, Casey assists the Athletic Director with fundraising and major gift opportunities to support and improve Tarleton Athletics. He will also assist the Athletic Department with marketing strategies to promote and encourage giving to Tarleton Athletics. Casey moved to Washington D.C. in 2009 to pursue a career in public service. He served as Executive Assistant and Legislative Assistant to Congressman John R. Carter. Casey was then asked to serve as Congressman Francisco “Quico” Canseco’s Legislative Director, a position he held prior to his appointment at Tarleton. Originally from Arlington, Hogan graduated from Tarleton in 2007 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science. In high school and college, Casey was a very active member of the National FFA Organization. In 2001, he was elected as the Texas FFA Vice President, and later served as the 2003-2004 National FFA Western Region Vice President at the 76th National FFA Convention. In his role as a National FFA Officer, Casey took a year away from college and traveled over 120,000 miles on behalf of 500,000 members. He also served two terms as Student Body President while at Tarleton and was named Mr. Tarleton State University in 2006. In May of 2013, Casey was
