Description of vocational education program ”Mason” Aim of program: To train mason as a result of education process who will work at construction companies and enterprises that go in performing of construction. He can read drawings, to plan operations of doable work without assistance, to organize place of work, to choose and use suitable materials and tools, as well as auxiliary equipment; to build basics, plinths, walls, partition walls, lintels, pillars and arches and etc. He can use different kind of mortars; to do repairmen works of masonry. He manages and keeps to labour safety, fire safety and demands of sanitation. General aims of education program: To give possibilities to acquire knowledge and skills as a result of education process:  to keep to labour safety and fire security regulations;  to read drawings and drafts;  to manage terminology of construction;  to study and work with technical literature;  to manage process and sequence of works;  to be competent in supply of construction materials;  to hold construction materials rightly;  to utilize construction and demolition waste. Particular aims of education program: To give possibilities to acquire knowledge and skills as a result of education process:  to prepare place of work for masonry;  to work out a card for masonry;  to verify tools and mechanisms, to avert damage of them;  to choose stones for indoor and outdoor works;  to prepare tools and mechanisms for work;  to know safety of mechanical and electric tools;  to put up auxiliaries (scaffoldings and operating platforms);  to avert fine damages of tools;  to work with plumb-line and bricklayer’s line; to perform scribing and marking out in the open air.  the simplest processing operations of natural stone;  to prepare necessary fillers and mortars;  to use chemical additives;  to quantify necessary materials;  to realize constructive types and constructive elements of buildings and their functions;  to work with masons hammers, trowels, shovels and other stock-in-trade;  to perform masonry according as working drawings;  to lay bricks and stones in accordance with basic regulations;  to know all tying methods of natural and man-made stones;  to perform basics of concreting works;  to repair stone wall (to replace damaged stones);


 to build decorative stone wall of natural and man-made stones;  to build basics, plinths, walls, partition walls, lintels, pillars and arches and etc;  to plumb horizontal damp-proof-course;  to point brick or stone wall. Evaluation of program acquirement quality: Students, who are acquired education program and gained necessary evaluation of skills and knowledge, take centralized vocational qualification examination that includes testing of theoretical knowledge and practical skills, and receive vocational qualification certificate according as valid laws and regulations. Possibilities for further education: ♦ to continue education at vocational education programs; ♦ to study different kind of vocational development programs.
