Dixie has been a favorite since she hit the ground. Dark red, lots of spring of rib, and the easiest fleshing heifer we have ever raised. Not to mention she has a sweet personality. She was the first pick for our show string this year and an easy selection for the Royal Elite sale. It’s not too often that we sell females from this powerful cow family, and we hate to part with this one. Her dam was Reserve Champion Junior Heifer Calf at the RAWF in 2011 and had a very successful show career as a yearling, being in the championship drive numerous times. In 2008 we made the decision to consign to the Royal sale. It was at that point we made the commitment to only consign our best. Since then, we have never wavered from that decision. By doing so not only came personal success, but most importantly, customer success. Since, Millbrook calves have earned a Supreme and Reserve at Youth Forum, Reserve Supreme at London Junior Beef Expo, along with six breed champions combined at both, and two breed champions at the NJBH and countless other victories. This is a feat we are extremely humbled by, and again, we’d like to congratulate the families involved for their success. With every passing year, the challenge of selecting an individual to consign to the sale becomes more difficult. That led us to open the door and let you be the judge. Never before have we had such a highly anticipated calf crop. The cow herd itself speaks volumes; cows are selected on structural soundness, fleshing ability, udder quality and temperament. These cows are built to perform.
The AI sires and walking sires are of the highest quality. Like in the past, Aviator and Waco are seeing continued use. These bulls certainly have left an everlasting impact here at Millbrook.
