Welcome to the Ninth Annual Place Your Bet Bull Sale. We’ve seen record high prices across the board over the past six months and if that is indication on our changing cattle market, the change is great! More people are buying into cattle and investing in agriculture and the beef industry and that is a move in the right direction. The more we educate about our industry, the more people want to be involved. We are excited for the spring of 2015 and look forward to embracing with our customers! The past years in the cattle industry have taught us that as producers we have to be flexible. Raising the type of cattle the consumer wants and needs and maybe not necessarily what we grew up raising but what what we need to raise to be cost effective. Whether it be red, black, or bauldy’s, a heifer bull or herd sire come check out the bulls on sale day or have a tour at the farm. We strive to provide bulls that provide desirable traits for the purebred breeder and the commercial breeder. This year we have got a solid group of bulls from some new herdsires of our own and look forward to watching them mature into your breeding programs. If you’re looking for a bull to fit into your program, Veteran is the place to be on March 14, 2015. All bulls are semen tested and sound by vet inspection prior to the sale. Insurance is available the day of the sale. Bulls will be previewed prior to the sale, but feel free to stop in for coffee and a visit on the farm to have a look before hand. Terms & Conditions
TERMS: The terms of this sale are cash or cheque payable at par at sale location unless satisfactory credit arrangements have been made previous to the sale. The right of property shall not pass until after settlement is made. All settlements must be made with the clerks of the sale before any cattle will be released. BID: Every animal consigned to the sale must be sold by auction. No private sales will be allowed except as otherwise provided for in the terms and conditions. No by-bidding will be permitted. Each animal will be sold to the highest bidder. DISPUTES: In some cases of disputes, bidding will be reopened between the parties involved. If no further bid is made the buyer will be the person from whom the auction- eer accepted the last bid. The auctioneers decision in such matters will be final. PURCHASER’S RISK: Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold. Animals will be cared for at the purchaser’s risk for a reasonable length of time. ANNOUNCEMENTS: Announcements from the auction block will take precedence over the printed matter in the catalogue. Bidders are therefore cautioned to pay attention to any such announcements. CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRY: The proper Registration or Recordation paper, as the case may be, will be duly trans- ferred and furnished to the buyer for each animal after the settlement has been made. BREEDERS GUARANTEE: Bulls... Should any bull four- teen (14) months of age or over, fail to prove a breeder after being used on cows known to be breeders, the matter shall be reported in writing to the seller within six (6) months following the date of purchase or six (6) months after the bull has reached fourteen (14) months of age. The seller will then have the right and privilege of six (6) months to prove the bull a breeder. No guarantee is given that the semen col- lected from the bull will be suitable for artificial insemina- tion. Heifers... All have been palpated and guaranteed open and in good health by a local veterinarian.
Should any bull fail to be a satisfactory breeder, he will be replaced with a bull of equal value and performance level. Should this not be possible, a credit toward the purchase of another bull will be awarded. All warranty and responsibility is limited to replacement of the bull in question and is acknowledged by the buyer as a condition of sale. EXCEPTION TO GUARANTEE: In cases where the animal is subject to any hormonal or surgical reproduction techniques after the sale, the guarantee shall be null and void. SETTLEMENT: Transportation charges on animals returned to the seller for account of the purchaser. No incidental expenses such as feed, A.I., signing fees, interest, veterinary charges, etc. will be charged by either party when making settlement. If the seller is successful in proving the animal a breeder, then said animal will be reclaimed by the purchaser at his expense. Should the seller fail to so prove the animal is a breeder, then the buyer is guaranteed a satisfactory replacement, F.O.B. the ranch or the refund of the actual price. In no event shall the seller be responsible for more than the purchase price. Should a dispute over the quality of a replacement animal, the Sales Management will appoint a mediator. ACCIDENTS: Although every precaution will be taken to protect the safety and comfort of buyers, neither the Sales Management, Auctioneer, or Sellers assume any responsibil- ity in this manner and disclaims any liability legal or other- wise in the event of the accident or loss of property. RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS: The above terms and condi- tions shall constitute a contract between the buyer and the seller and equally binding to both. Resale of animals follow- ing purchase in this sale shall constitute a separate transac- tion the rights and obligations of the two parties connected thereto are not covered by the terms and conditions of this sale.

This is our first baby frank, out of one of our herd builder cows. Sadly she fell ill and he had to be raised by another cow but it didn’t slow him down. 8B is by far the longest bull in our offering and the most deceiving because of it. He patterns Frank the most of this grouping. His length, hip structure, right down to his head is so much like his sire. His Powerdrive dam is one we purchased in dam from Prairie Fire Simmentals when they dispersed. She has been a definite assets to the herd, with females retained in herd and a bull sold in 2010 sale. She has a tight udder and perfect sized teets. Two milking daughters also mimic her udder structure. 8B has the genetics to add length, power and lots of material traits. Polled

These two Boomer sons would be great heifer Bulls. The boomers calve unassisted and grow like crazy and have tones of hair. These boys are smooth shouldered, sweet headed and have great muscle shape. We loved watching the bull mature! Sweet headed, smooth from front to back, a moderate 84 Lb birth weight. Springfield’s dam is a moderated framed tank. She milks hard, is really wide based and has a nice big foot. She has a few replacements in herd that are beautiful in body type. They milk great but still maintain some body shape. Michigan is the last calf out of our famous 22S cow. She produced many top Bulls and the remainder of her progeny has been retained in herd as replacement females.
