Best of Both Worlds Bull Sale...
2014 went down in the record books as one to remember of modern cattle history in North America. Record prices, record low cattle inventory, record demand, and still more record keeping are just some of the highlights. 2015 is shaping up to be that and so much more! It has been with great optimism and vision that this set of bulls would be offered for the industry. We incorporated an intense embryo transplant program. The very best of the donors went to work building an inventory of embryos to be strategically implanted with a focus of producing an ideal accumulation of genetics. This year 2/3 of the bulls are “age advantaged,” developed gently and evaluated for an extended period of time. The focus of this sale is simple: the bulls! There may be operations that sell more bulls, but quality is not defined by volume.
Be sure to visit with any of our sale staff if you are not able to attend. We stand behind the professional and unbiased evaluation and representation of these fine industry people. This is the strongest set of Fleckvieh coming two’s available anywhere in the industry. Many ET brothers that offer an opportunity to get a set of bulls with like type and kind, thus yielding more consistency in your calf crop. A little infusion of “older” sires with the modern type Fleckvieh cows has created a genetic combination that should fit into many breeding schemes.

The terms of the sale are cash or cheque, payable at par at the sale location. The right of property shall not pass until after settlement has been made; no invoicing on buyers in attendance, unless previous arrangements have been made. Every animal sells to the highest bidder and in cases of disputes, the auctioneer’s decision will be final. Current exchange rates will be announced sale day. All monies are in Canadian funds. BIDDING:
Each animal will sell to the highest bidder... no by-bidding will be permitted. Disputes – Bidding will be reopened between the parties involved in dispute. If no further bidding is made, the buyer will be the person from whom the auctioneer accepted the last bid. The auctioneer’s decision on all disputes will be final. ANNOUNCEMENTS:
All announcements made from the auction block will take precedence over the printed matter in the catalogue. Buyers are therefore cautioned to pay close attention to such disclosures. BREEDER’S GUARANTEE:
Should any bull fourteen (14) months of age or over fail to prove a breeder after being used on females known to be breeders, the matter shall be reported in writing to the seller within six (6) months following the date of purchase

or six (6) months after the bull has reached fourteen (14) months of age. The seller will have the right and privilege of six (6) months to prove the bull a breeder. No guarantee is given that semen collected from the bull will freeze. EXCEPTION GUARANTEE:
In cases where the animal is subjected to any hormonal or surgical reproduction techniques after the sale, this guarantee shall be null and void. CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRATION:
Each animal will carry papers issued by the Canadian Simmental Associations. A certificate of registry duly transferred will be furnished to the buyer for each animal after payment has been made. LIABILITIES:

Welcome to the Double Bar D Farms 2015 bull sale offering. We have all been energized with the recent upswing the beef cattle business has seen in the last several months. The sky seems to be the limit for the futures in the cattle market these days and ranchers and cattlemen alike are finally being rewarded for the doom and gloom days through BSE. One thing it has taught us is to be tremendous managers and see the value in easy keeping cattle that grow and excel, providing a premium in the market place. The “Best of Both Worlds” bull sale has always been a true cattleman’s dream to select top bulls that are from some of the most proven cow families in the industry and stacked with the traits of fertility, fleshing ability, maternal, with the ability to raise that quality end product of phenotypically correct heavy calves that can consistently top the market each week. The Double Bar D team has always selected only the very best herd bulls to offer the most proven and strongest genetic base available to their customers each year. This year’s group of bulls are the strongest to date in terms of consistency and strength. This year’s offering truly has something for everyone in terms of quality, age and budget. The Fullblood extra age bulls are the strongest set to date and that is a big statement. This group of bulls truly has power in their blood. In 2012, we offered a group of Summer born Fleckvieh bulls that were received with overwhelming acceptance. Thus the decision was made to breed a superior set of bulls born in that calving window and what a set of bulls they are. The majority of them are ET calves and from our most elite donors. In every mating; focus on cow families and the compounding of superior production traits. These heavyweight herdsires will have your attention again this year. All are 100% Fleckvieh. Usually the decision for lot 1 pends on the standout of the group. This year there are so many outstanding bulls in the pen, I decided to start the line-up with an outstanding set of bulls from one of the most profitable cows on the farm, Virginia Treasure 4T [VIRS 4T]. Treasure needs little introduction as she is the dam of the breed famous, Double Bar D Spitfire 20X, whom rattled the auction selling to Starwest for $58,000 in 2011. Treasure is out of, perhaps the productive and a personal favourite of mine at Virginia Ranch, Virginia West Patty. Stacking the cow power of 4T with the sires selected are surly going to produce outstanding females. Breeding cattle takes an accumulation of efforts from many breeders. Virginia Treasure 4T is such an accomplishment. Never before has DBD offered 10 sons by 4 different sires at one sale!

This is the natural calf off of Treasure! Slightly younger, this guy has really come together as he matures. Bocephus is polled, star headed, calving ease, and maternal strength stacked. Balboa has been mainstay as a consistent calving ease sire that always puts a great disposition on his progeny. Bocephus was made famous by Hank Williams, Jr. but a new era in Fleckvieh can be made with this genetic specimen.

From the first time I saw Double Bar D Klaudia 80T in the flesh, I knew she was donor material. She produced the $11,000 bred heifer by Double Bar D Adonis 603N that sold to Tryon Simmentals in 2011 at Simmsational. Her production ability combined with structure and udder quality is on target. Being an Everest daughter and outcross below that, elevates her genetic merit even more. Joining her with Chesapeake was a homerun, as I am sure you will agree. Pigment and power. The wildcard flush to the great imported foundation sire, Hockenhull Magnum, yielded a pair of power, power, power, pound making bulls.

FGAF Talula 232R sons
FGAF Talula 232R led off an outstanding line-up of females at the FGAF sale in 2006. She is one of the heaviest muscled, awesome footed, perfect skulled, and Fleckvieh type cows I have seen. Talula has worked with every sire she has ever been mated to and stamps her progeny with quality. Sired by the high selling bull in our sale in 2002 for $26,000, Double Bar D Buster, owned by Ferme Gagnon, solidifies her pedigree with MRLN Barbl. Juggernaut got used on almost every donor at least once and this mating was a match made in heaven. RLD 149A is as dark red, sound, soggy, and thick as can be. RLD 136A is the combination of jam packed genetics from Chesapeake. The only bulls from these matings, but the sisters are to die for. Herdsires just waiting to see some lucky ladies.

Double Bar D Joceline 104M has been a feature donor nearly her whole life. She never fails to produce great ones repeatedly. Double Bar D Maestro anchored the lot 1 position in a past sale, selling to Ferme Gagnon and Well’s Crossing for $50,000. Maybe I should reconsider these outstanding sons to be in the lot 1 position, because they very well could lead off any sale. RLD 200A and RLD 178A, sired by Double Bar D Adonis 603N, stacks foundation cow families top and bottom. High performance and extreme length, and still the ideal pigmentation, heighten the excitement around them. Perhaps, the heaviest muscled bull in the group, Double Bar D Revival 201A by Rogar, is an outcross option with all the bells and whistles. He lines up Rogant twice in his pedigree. MRLN Rogar has made some of the best daughters ever in the industry.

The Universe x 77P mating produced; high selling open female in 2014 February sale for $13,000 and her brother Double Bar D Classic was selected by the keen eye of Francis Gagnon for $12,000. In the direction of pedigrees that are diverse enough to intertwine for genetics, Double Bar D Adora 224S, offers that twist. She is a direct Draco daughter and ranks in the top of the breed for growth and performance data. Her dam was one of the top sellers at Fleck Fest years ago from Salmon Arm and is a descendant of the great Dora cow family. Until our purchase of the Wyecrest herd in 2013, Adora 224S was the only representation of this cow family. Now we have several females in the herd that carry Dora’s noble blood. We in turn, designed the outcross pedigree of Nickleback to be mated with Adora. They are stout. Great Guns Bandit added a new element to the equation as well, demonstrating the huge growth potential of 224S.
