Once again it is my pleasure to welcome everyone to this, the 4th Annual Beck/McCoy Bull Sale. This sale offers buyers the great convenience of one stop multi breed shopping early in the year. It is a great opportunity to buy new herd bulls with the freshest genetics in their respective breed and give yourself peace of mind knowing you have the required bull power needed for the upcoming season. To put you further at ease, take comfort in the fact that you have a working relationship with two long standing proven programs, led by young men who will be in the business for a long time and they know your best interest is their best interest. The McCoy Gelvieh bulls are the strongest group they have ever brought to the bull sale, full of meat and muscle. These bulls are a valuable tool in your cross breeding program offering added growth in your steer calves and making your replacement heifers superior mothers with incredible udders. The new generation Hereford bulls are also gaining popularity in cross breeding programs; offering hair, bone, hardiness and docility. If you have not looked at a Hereford bull in awhile, you owe it to yourself to revisit this breed which has been a mainstay in the Canadian beef industry for more than 150 years, definitely not a fad. Jorja’s 4-H steer beat out 158 other steers to win the Weyburn Regional Show. He then went on to be Reserve Champion Charolais steer at the Calgary Stampede. Not bad for a bull calf culled from our 2011 pen. Really sums up how hard our bull pen is culled.
