STEP 1:

PAY THE SEVIS FEE AND APPLY FOR AN F-1 VISA Pay the I-901 fee: www.fmjfee.com/i901fee/index.html Gather the following materials needed for the visa interview Form I-20 Letter of admission from Southern Utah University Proof of SEVIS I-901 fee payment: www.fmjfee.com SUU School Code for SEVIS: DEN214F10106000 Evidence of financial ability to meet expenses Evidence of English ability sufficient for course of study Evidence of intent to depart the U.S. after completion of studies Valid passport YOU CAN APPLY FOR YOUR VISA 120 DAYS BEFORE YOUR PROGRAM START DATE

STEP 2:

ACTIVATE YOUR MYSUU PORTAL AND COURSE REGISTRATION Go to www.suu.edu Select "My SUU" and click "Activate Account" or follow login prompt instructions Hint: Your T-Number is your student ID number at SUU Intensive English Program (IEP) placement testing: will be held during International Orientation. This is not required if you provide us with official test results for the TOEFL, IELTS or iTEP.


STEP 3:

STUDENT HOUSING Students should secure housing as soon as possible. Housing fills up very quickly. Choose from one of the following options: University Housing - Visit suu.edu/housing to see housing options. Turn in a housing application to Alex Curtis at alexcurtis@suu.edu to secure your spot! Off-Campus Housing - If you prefer to live off-campus, please contact Alex Curtis at alexcurtis@suu.edu for off-campus housing options. Homestay - Want the experience of living with a local Cedar City family? Visit www.suu.edu/internationalaffairs/visit/homestay.html for more information.

STEP 4:

INTERNATIONAL ORIENTATION & THUNDER U All incoming international students are required to attend International Orientation and Thunder U. Register for orientation here: www.suu.edu/iss/orientation-register.html No registration is required for Thunder U.


STEP 5:

TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS Reserve a seat on our free shuttle from the following airports on the specific date provided. **See Recap of Important Dates** Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport St. George Regional Airport Cedar City Regional Airport Students need to arrive at the airport before 6:00 PM (18:00) in order to use our shuttle service. Register here: www.suu.edu/iss/shuttle.html If that time does not work, contact Alex Curtis at alexcurtis@suu.edu for alternate options. **If you are enrolling in the Early College Program, you must fly into Cedar City Regional Airport**

STEP 6:

HEALTH INSURANCE AND MEDICAL CARE As an international student, you are required by the U.S. government to (1) have an active health insurance policy, (2) have two doses of the MMR vaccine (Measles, Mumps, and Rubella), and (3) be tested for tuberculosis (TB). All immunizations MUST be done 30 days prior to your arrival. You MUST have an insurance policy within 30 days after your arrival.
