Junior EaglesIgnite Fires of Friendship,Pride,Competition In the hearts of all members of the junior class burned a flame of true Edgewaterpride. New outlooks cultivated, struggles fought, situations mastered, and exposure to Eagle tradition provided the fuel for an undying fire within each individual student.

Ordering class rings early in the year aroused an anxious expectation and added to building enthusiasm for the class of 1970. Chilling weather greeted college-bound juniors and stimulated achievement as PSAT's were administeredearly in October.Friendship was created for Totan, student from Japan.

Sophomoresentered a totally new and challenging realm of ideas, experiences and activities the moment they bounded into the world of EHS. Unsuspecting Baby Eagles were swept up in the excitement of Homecoming, football and state playoffs, pledging, Boone week, dances, and senior high school studies.

Flapping their young wings with the Eagle spirit they had quickly acquired, sophomores displayed unfailing loyalty and true pride throughout tle year.

Soon their downy feathers developed into sleek Eagle plumage and sophomores were off and flying.

At the head of the flock flew Mike Kelsey, class president; JiIl Swofford, class vice president; Dusty Sutton, sec. retary and Betsy Leedy, treasurer. Behind them followed the class of '71 one of the best flocks to inhabit E.H.S.
