BY ERIC ZHANG THE DYNAMICS BETWEEN FASHION & MEDIA INTERVIEW WITH MINH-HA T.PHAM Minh-Ha T. Pham is an Assistant Professor in the History of Art & Visual Studies Department and the Asian American Studies Program at Cornell University. She’s completing a book on fashion blogs with a focus on the wildly popular blogs of diasporic Asian bloggers. The book traces the multiple ways in which Asian styles of embodiment and consumer styles are enacted and represented in the fashion blogosphere to produce cultural, social, and economic capital. Her writings on the politics and economies of fashion, race, and technology have been published in a wide array of forums from academic journals to popular and political magazines. She’s been invited to present her research to audiences in and across academic, art, and technology fields including those at Dartmouth College, Cranbook Art Academy, and Microsoft. Additionarly, her research has been featured in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, NPR, San Francisco Chronicle, the Chronicle of Higher Education, Hyphen Magazine, WNYC, among other media sites.
