Design Inspiration: 2011 Basel Summer Workshops and European Travel

An inspiring experience requires time for reflection to allow its significance to be meaningfully absorbed. This summer (2011) was a particularly inspiring time for me as I spent time both studying at the School of Design in Basel—a long-time dream come true—and to travel extensively in Europe. To give myself proper space for reflection on these experiences and offer my future self an encapsulated document to which I can return for later and further inspiration, I have compiled a summary of images and impressions from my study and travel. As a necessarily condensed view of my experiences, the focus of this document is on the most interesting design-related moments from my journey as loosely categorized by what they demonstrate conceptually or practically for me. The process of selecting and sorting these highlights will hopefully shed new light on future projects and add new perception to my day-to-day environment.
