2013

2013 Welcome to Mistral Windsurfing We have a new and exiting line of windsurfing boards to propose to you. Designed by our great shapers, Gianni Valdambrini and Chris Lockwood. Both legends in their field and have managed to come up with what we hope will give you as much riding pleasure as it does for us. Produced in 2 different factories the lines have been optimized for performance and durability. Construction ranging from full wood sandwich to PVC carbon and even Core cork ensures not only the best combo but also a construction that will last. The Boards have received great tests in the magazines. Quad wave – German Surf (does all you can ever what to do with a wave board) Joker wave – German Surf (Most fun board in category) Joker wave – German windsurf journal. They have also received great results on the racecourse. Beating lots of top PWA pro’s in the process. Orange speed crossing Leuqate, France. Anders Bringdal 1st with speed 47 and speed 55. Le Defi Wind, Gruissant. (1000 windsurfers registered) Anders Bringdal 1s in the Fun race. Slalom 82 Chris Lockwood have also had great success down under on the GPS-Speedsurfing.com site with lots of log ins. Slalom 57 41 knots Slalom 68 40 knots Slalom 82 39 knots. With race proven results and magazine test that agree. The new Mistral line of board has met its expectation. Now the only final test we miss is you on the water. Have fun and do let us know if you to agree with the rest!! Happy sailing, Anders Bringdal

SPEED 2013 Beveled Double Concave Hull- unique beveled double concave design with parallel centre channel to minimize chop impact effects and reduce rail pressure, resulting in the smoothest ride on the market, without adding drag. Chine Cutaways- 3 major benefits over conventional cutouts: increases active surface area when getting planing, loosens trim at higher speeds allowing higher maximum speeds, and acts as trim tabs when the board might otherwise be tail-walking. Results in an incredibly fast, stable and free trim on the water. Increased Length- longer available waterline for superior low speed performance, lull gliding, and gybing exit. Lower impact angles at high speed in chop for smooth, controlled trim in rough conditions. Parallel Outline- for cleaner chop penetration. Pin Tail- for snap turns and low wake generation resulting in lower drag. Advanced Rail Design- rail shapes designed for ultra-clean release resulting in a dry ride, but with deep engagement during gybing for a dependable, stable carve. Deck Concave- subtle use of deck concaves to stiffen up the deck surfaces without adding extra weight. Ultra Profile- Ergonomically engineered foot profiles- designed for maximum comfort when driving the rail in the most neutral position, and allowing for maximum steering range through the feet. Vario-Inserts- provides adjustable strap spacing to cater for use with boots, or bare foot riding, along with options for forward and rear placement and spacing catering for all shapes and sizes. Globally Matched Curves- Outline, rocker and bottom shapes are optimized in unison with advanced in-house developed 3D computer design software to maximize stability and performance over the largest range of conditions. Optimized Material Placement- composite matrix of the highest quality materials to optimize stiffness, durability, and damping so that you get the best possible sailing experience. SYNCRO The Syncro line is featuring a very nice shape and deck ow, a slightly wider nose, and fuller rails, the board really performs great. It has a similar rocker line to the older versions and the improvements offers more of the do-it all performance the Syncro line stands for: Fun ride, full control in the jibe, fast for better jumping, and with a rocker that is at enough to handle any chop you will have to deal with. The board can be set up with either a 3-foot straps setting or an outboard 4-foot straps setting. The 3-foot straps setting is for more maneuver ability and improved performance for jumping and moving around on the water. The 4-foot straps setting makes it easier to have full pressure on the rail, giving you a faster board.

JOKER WAVE Considered a “freestyle wave” combo, the Joker Wave Puts all the variation a rider wants into a single package. All the variation a rider wants into a single package: wave riding, jumping, fast maneuvering, freestyle, and fun sailing. Developed and designed to offer breathtaking acceleration and planing, trimmed to perfection ... just hook up, ride, and enjoy. Shape Features: Both out lines and rocker lines are trimmed to perfection, giving this board a huge dynamic range with the added advantage of permitting full-pressure back-foot carves. The rails are designed with a soft “tuck under” edge running from tip to front straps, making freestyle slides a piece of cake while still maintaining planing in the comfort zone. A short, flat board mix produces greater feeling underfoot and high reactivity in fast turns. Design Gianni Valdanbrini

JOKER FREESTYLE Our Joker line is designed for freestyle competitors And general free-stylers alike. It’s a compact package of early planing, easy sliding maneuvers, great speed and acceleration, with fantastic control in all conditions. Shape features: Ease of sliding is achieved by the rocker line and the board shape. The tuck in the rail with the tail shape makes it a very forgiving board so it’s easier for you to complete your moves. An unusual rocker line, developed for this board, helps give the board that light feeling under your feet as well as its great range. The only limit . . . your creativity! Design Gianni Valdanbrini

SHOCK WAVE This board will handle any conditions you get yourself into - from onshore waves to offshore wave sailing - and will excel in all of them. The new Shock Wave has a more rounded nose, so that more of the rail gets into the water, making it much easier to position the board in the bottom turn and hold it through even the toughest chop. The board also has a faster rocker line, which in combination with the tail kick really improves performance in both onshore and offshore conditions. The bottom shape promotes easy foot steering and the transition from rail to rail. Your stance is wider, making it easier to move your body weight back and forth over the board. In turns, this really helps you to bury the nose in the bottom turn and then unleash in the top turns. It will be an easy early planning burn off the beach type wave board in the one ďŹ n set up. In case you like to have a more surf type board the 3 ďŹ n set up will be for you. Faster and shorter bottom turns with more grip in the top turn. Design Gianni Valdanbrini

QUAD Praised by the German surf. The Mistral Quad does it all. More Rocker, a more harmonious outline, slightly wider in the nose and then gunning out the tail together with soft rails makes it hold at any speed in the bottom turn. The bottom shape ensures early planning while still keeping the ease to roll the board rail to rail. With again a wider stance it is a great feeling of control once you get yourself into the bottom turn and with the added rocker the board is super easy to redirect in the turns as well as unwind in the cut back so to be able to hit the wave later and harder. For the 2013 line up this is your weapon of choice if you are looking for modern design wave riding board. It will handle side onshore to onshore conditions well but will truly excel in the surf. Set the board up in its 2 ďŹ n set up and the board is super loose. In the quad set up you will ďŹ nd more drive and grip through the turns. Design Gianni Valdanbrini

SCREAMER Our ultimate fun ride for you who are looking for fast flat water free ride boards. The Screamer is a glass-carbon-reinforced PVC sandwich and has the foot strap positions set a bit more inboard, to make it easier to get into them after the jibe. It is a fantastic free-ride/free move board for going fast, with control. The jibe with the Screamer is unreal due to the mix of tuck-under rails, parallel outlines and rocker lines. It is the perfect choice for those who sail in flat to choppy conditions and want to have an easy fun day on the water and don’t need to go all the way to a slalom board to enjoy a great day. ENERGY The energy board is designed to plane early, be fast on the water and have great stability in the jibes. We achieved this with a fairly parallel outline and a straight rocker line that follows the lines from the slalom boards. The V is accelerated towards the tail to make the board lively off the back foot and also help accelerate in the gusts. The rails have plenty of tuck under to ensure a soft ride in the water and also help you come out of jibes planing. The boards have a high-end construction featuring a glass-carbon-reinforced PVC sandwich. Delivered with Maui Ultra Fins “ride” fin.
