Lefteris Kapetanakis comes from a long line of gold and silver craftsmen and started to learn the trade at his brother’s workshop in his teens. He quickly developed a great loνe for his craft and learned secrets from the great masters of his art. He opened his own store in 1972 in Monastiraki and quickly established a reputation as one ofthe best filigree craftsmen. He is inspired by the great ciνilizations of Greece such as the Minoan, Mycenaean, Classical, Hellenistic and Byzantine. He decorates crystal, bottles, glasses, candlesticks and other decorative items with the filigree method using gold, silver, swarovski crystals and semi precious stones creating true works of art which are exceptionally elegant. His artwork can be found from Paris to Tokyo and from Hong Kong to New York and collective pieces can be found in the Folk Museum of Osaka.
