In my mind In my mind, there are things, things no one else can see. In my mind, I can fly, through the trees and past the sky. In my mind, my thoughts are free, like the wind in the trees. In my mind I am free and can be who I want to be. Madylin Medley Grade 5, Arts Academy at Summit

Summer

My dog Brody My dog Brody is very loud My dog Brody is very proud When he plays with his toys He always makes a lot of noise His bark is like a bat hitting a ball His toys were just a trip to the mall When he squeaks his squeaker toy It gets so annoying so I give it to the other boy. Brody is my hugger, my kisser and more Brody is just a walk right out the door. Aubri Bower

BUT THEN I SAW IT BIG AND STRONG

Music drifts lazily through the air Floating through the summer breeze Humming melodies without care Rustling the leaves in the trees Pushing on, kissing the faces of ladies fair As knights in shining armor find princesses to please And it pushes on It finds hollows in trees where owls dwell
