Team coaches secured a $500 grant to purchase specialized Legos - not those sold as small toy pieces - to create robots that are programmed through laptop instructions to perform specific tasks. Their robot was built to accomplish a solution for assisting the elderly with preventing dehydration. After each competition, the team had had to make adjustments on the prototype to accomplish

another set of competition skills. The RoboTigers will advance to the next round of competition that will be held at Georgia Tech on January 26. Coaching the team were Nezetta Johnson, Mark Smith, and Stacy Nelson. Principal Shakira Brown, Zenobia Johnson, Sandra Caughman, and Marshall Troup of Morehouse College, served as student mentors and supporters.
