The world’s focus on international peacekeeping offers additional opportunity for young people to join the military. Aerospace studies (Air Force ROTC) allows students to pursue officer positions in the United States Air Force. With stipends and scholarships, you can even earn a graduate degree funded by the Air Force. After graduation, you are guaranteed a job with the U.S. Air Force in exchange for a four-year military commitment.

Programs in athletic training and health management prepare you to help active individuals prevent and rehabilitate injuries. Facilities such as the human performance laboratory, athletic training laboratory and the bone density laboratory prepare you for a technology-reliant field. Our sport management program is one of relatively few in the Midwest. Many have trained with or are employed by organizations such as the New England Patriots, St. Louis Cardinals, St. Louis Sports Commission, Ladies Professional Golf Association, Lowe’s Motor Speedway, U.S. Navy, YMCA, Rawlings Sporting Goods and health facilities around the country.
The Human Performance Laboratory has equipment for exercise, metabolic measurement systems, Monark leg ergonometer, lactate analyzers, body composition measurement devices and more.
A Dual Energy X-Ray Absorptometer (DXA) enables students to measure bone mineral density, a marker for osteoporosis, and is the standard for measuring body composition/ body fat. Southeast is one of a relatively few universities to have such technology.
The U.S. Bureau of Labor predicts an increase in jobs in communication disorders. Our program prepares you for graduate studies in speech and language pathology, audiology and education for the hearing impaired. Having our own Speech and Hearing Clinic on campus helped earn us a place on the U.S. News & World Report list of leading graduate programs, which is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation of the American Speech-LanguageHearing Association. The pass rate of our graduates on the national certification exam is nearly 90 percent compared to the national average of around 76 percent.
