Kansas, 1983-88 1988 NCAA Champions Larry Brown was the head coach at Kansas from 1983-88 and led the Jayhawks to the 1988 NCAA Championship. The team also reached the 1986 Final Four, which was in Dallas. Kansas’ Danny Manning (pictured with Brown) was the 1988 Final Four Most Outstanding Player.

Larry Brown played at North Carolina from 1959-63, spending two years under Frank McGuire (center) before playing on Dean Smith’s (right) first two UNC squads. Brown was the leading scorer in 1961-62, Smith’s first year as head coach. Brown later served as an assistant coach and the freshman coach for Smith from 1965-67.

Larry Brown was the head coach for USA Basketball in 1999, 2003 and 2004, as well as an assistant coach in 2000. In 1999 and 2003, they won the Gold Medal at Olympic Qualifiers. The 2000 team won the Gold Medal in Sydney and the 2004 team took home the Bronze Medal in Athens.
