STUDY ABROAD Once a student’s first 30 hours of law school are complete, they can pursue a study abroad experience. Through agreements with international institutions, law students can choose among several DISTINCTIVE programs to explore different cultures and legal systems. SUMMER PROGRAMS MADRID The ABA-approved Summer Law Program in Madrid builds on the Center’s strong comparative and international law focus by offering up to six credit hours of law courses taught by Spanish legal scholars and professors from SLU LAW. Classes are held at Saint Louis University’s own Madrid campus. Classroom instruction is in English, and the program includes site visits to various Spanish courts. The program allows students to experience Spanish culture while expanding their knowledge of international and comparative law. In addition, students in the program’s International Criminal Law course will observe proceedings at the International Criminal Court and the International Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia in The Hague, Netherlands, immediately following the program.
