Realignment makes it tough for Rebels
Realignment did no favors for the Evadale Rebels. For several years they have dominated their district. Even though they play in the smallest eleven man conference, they managed to win 16 games in the past two years and finished play last year with a record of 6-5. This year they will have to prove their worth to win the district championship. They have been placed in a district that includes Tenaha, the defending State Champions of Class 1A Division II. The Tenaha Tigers were 14-0 last year.
Joining the group is the Mount Enterprise Wildcats. This team finished last season at 11-2 and lost to Tenaha in the Regional finals. The other two teams in the district are the Burkevlle Mustangs and the Sabine Pass Sharks. Coach Mark Williams has plenty of weapons to enter the season. He has five starters returning on offense and five on defense. Offensively Williams son, Wes Williams leads the way. The 5-10, 175 pound senior has experi-
ence and should provide leadership for the team. One of his primary targets is Matthew Totten who is the only two way starter returning on the team. He played wide receiver and defensive back last year. In addition, the squad has a pair of offensive linemen returning in Braiden Burford, and 5-10, 230 punt Matthew Akridge. The starter at tight end in 2011 Hunter Jackson is also returning. Defensively the team should be strong with a See REBELS on PG. 29, SEC. 3
