Research Overview In 2011, Prince Henry’s Institute was successful in securing highly competitive funding, including National Health and Medical Research Council Program (NHMRC) and Project Grants, as well as support from key competitive national and international funding bodies such as the Victorian Breast Cancer Research Consortium (VBCRC), National Breast Cancer Foundation, Cancer Council Victoria and the National Institutes of Health (USA). Continued funding success has enabled PHI researchers to undertake fundamental and translational research impacting on key priority areas including, cancer, cardiovascular disease, bone health, Parkinson’s disease and fertility. Continued funding from the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation has also enabled researchers at PHI to make considerable progress towards an early detection test for Ovarian Cancer.
