creative visionary shop owner designer: the re-souL collection
M
y story starts with 15 years at a major department store. Nearly half that time I was responsible for designing women’s shoes for the store’s private label collections. I managed brands, worked with shoe factories all over the world, sampled product and created collections. I made certain that the shoes we created met quality and design expectations as well as ethical standards.
When it became time to move on, the next logical thing in my mind was to open my own shoe store. Together with my husband and partner, we started our own shoe store nearly 12 years ago and have successfully built a following of loyal customers in Seattle and online. In that time, we’ve really tried to zero-in on those unique, specialty footwear styles that

Thoughtful, creative, passionate and strong. women crave. We’re proud to say that re-souL is a premier destination for stylish, quality footwear in Seattle. More recently, we began seeing trends in fashion that weren’t being served by the marketplace. Time after time we would go to trade shows looking for the modern, everyday classics that we KNEW our customers like and yet they weren’t available. The obvious next step for us
was to design our own shoe collection. It was the perfect opportunity for me. The vision started with sketches and color palettes and I knew right away we wanted quality materials and Italian construction. We also knew that the “right price” could be found in Italy, so off we went to collaborate with our network of Italian “amici” (friends). The re-souL collection is inspired by the women we

see every day in our shop. Thoughtful, creative, passionate and strong. Each style represents a real person that we know and with whom we are connected. Some are friends, others are acquaintances, but they are all beautiful women and have their own sense of style.
nova Lives for good food and weekend escapes to nature. She is fond of the natural color of rust. Has a weakness for specialty paper goods. Always looking for creative expression.
bret Producer, designer, dancer, and mom. Style to spare. All about family and keeping them close. Favorite color is white. Will break for chocolate, always.
leslie Loves color but is practical when it comes to footwear. She craves travel and carries many notebooks. She lives for lazy Sunday mornings and adventures on her bike.
keli Purveyor of fabulous fabrics. Loves her family, tolerates the dog. Enjoys her morning coffee with friends. A grand planner of many things. If only she had a staff of nine, to get it all done in time.
misha Creative, feminine and kind. Doesn’t leave home without eyeliner and heels. She’s inspired by the perfect French croissant, clear sunny skies and spring flowers.
lizzie A stylist with a love for gold accessories, fragrant peonies, cozy sweaters, big hoop earrings, lip gloss and mascara. A real girly-girl with a big heart.
