TO encourage children to wear their glasses with pride, Specsavers Opticas in association with EWN are launching a Cool Kids competition. Parents can enter a photograph of their child wearing glasses as of this week. Head on down to the nearest Specsavers Opticas and fill in an entry form before Sunday September 30. Alternatively children can get their photo taken in store. The winner will receive a pair of designer children’s glasses and a €50 voucher from a shop of their choice.
Five minute tornado twists over Mallorca By Raul Candela A TORNADO hit the northern town of Lluc, halfway between Soller and Pollensa. The twister’s course did not go across any city or populated area but the trees of an UNESCO Heritage Site natural park took the brunt of the force of nature. It will take more than 100 years before the Clot d’Aubarca, one of the most beautiful landscapes in the Tramuntana Mountains, sees its holm oak forestry and olive field fully recovered, according to Balearic President Jose Ramon Bauza.
