The team of Alan Morin, PGA of the Falls Country Club and his amateur partner Dean Baker shot a 15 under par 57 to capture the net division of the 2011 Pro-Official Championship presented by Club Car and Tee-Links Marketing & supported by Antigua and Mobile Pro Shop. Additionally, the team of John Mullen, PGA of the Polo Club of Boca Raton and his amateur partner Peter Koslow won the gross division in a scorecard playoff after firing a 7 under par 65. Finishing second in the gross division was the team of Jason Hrynkiw, PGA of Gleneagles Country Club and his amateur partner, Bruce Allman. The event consisted of 60 teams, comprised of one South Florida PGA Professional and one official from the Professional’s place of employment, playing in a best ball competition. Special thanks to PGA Members Tom Dyer and Kelli Kostick and PGA Apprentices Justin Onken, Eric Mabee and Travis Olson at Old Marsh Golf Club in West Palm Beach for hosting the event. Nelson Cup Matches The host Southwest Chapter won the 17th annual South Florida PGA Nelson Cup Matches Presented by TaylorMade adidas Ashworth at LaPlaya Golf Course. It was the eighth time in the last 13 meetings that club professionals from the Southwest Chapter have triumphed. Special thanks to La Playa Golf Course for hosting the event and to Head PGA Professional Scott Richardson.
