CIP: 50.0408 School of Arts, Design and Media Arts, 505-­‐428-­‐1731 Study of design and architectural principles, digital technologies, sustainability, project management and business practices provides students with the capabilities they need to practice kitchen and bath design and begin their professional kitchen and bath design internship. All courses that are part of the Certificate in Kitchen and Bath Design will meet the National Association of Kitchen and Bath (NKBA) accreditation standards. Upon completion of the Certificate in Kitchen and Bath Design students may have earned education and/or experience credits toward attaining an AKBD (Associate Kitchen and Bath Designer) certification through NKBA. Credits will apply toward the completion of an Associate in Applied Science degree in Interior Design. PROGRAM LEARNING OUTCOMES Upon completion of this program, students will be able to: • Design kitchens and bathrooms in accordance with client needs, professional standards and building codes. • Create and present construction documents that demonstrate proficiency in technical drawing skills. • Apply design and business principles, practices and ethics to project management.
